Q: How do I get matched with a therapist?
A: Just take our quick matching quiz, and we’ll recommend a licensed therapist based on your personality, goals, and preferences. You’ll receive matches tailored to your communication style, identity, and emotional needs.

Q: How long does it take to get matched?
A: Most users are matched within 24–48 hours. You’ll receive an email with your top therapist matches and next steps to get started.

Q: Can I choose my own therapist?
A: Yes. You’re in control. We provide curated matches, but you’re free to review therapist bios, specialties, and request someone else if preferred.


💬 About Therapy Sessions

Q: Are sessions online or in-person?
A: All sessions are currently offered virtually via our secure platform. This allows greater flexibility and comfort for clients across Texas and beyond.

Q: How long is each session?
A: Standard sessions are 50–60 minutes. Some therapists offer shorter or extended sessions depending on your needs.

Q: What should I expect during my first session?
A: The first session is all about building connection. Your therapist will ask questions about your background, goals, and preferences to better understand how to support you.


💳 Cost, Insurance, and Payments

Q: How much does therapy cost?
A: Session rates vary by therapist but typically range from $90–$150 per session. Sliding scale options may be available.

Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: Yes. We currently accept major plans including Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oscar, Optum, and Oxford. We’ll verify your benefits before scheduling.

Q: Can I pay out-of-pocket?
A: Absolutely. Many clients choose to pay privately for greater flexibility or privacy.

Q: Do you offer Superbills for reimbursement?
A: Yes. If we’re out-of-network with your plan, we can provide a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance provider.

Q: Is my information kept confidential?
A: Yes. Piqwell is HIPAA-compliant. All communication, records, and personal data are securely stored and never shared without your consent.

Q: Will my employer or family know I’m in therapy?
A: No. Your participation in therapy is private. We do not share your information with employers or third parties.

Q: What if I don’t connect with my therapist?
A: That’s okay. If you’re not feeling a connection, we’ll rematch you with another therapist who may be a better fit — no judgment, no hassle.

Q: Can I switch therapists later on?
A: Yes, anytime. Your well-being comes first. Just reach out and we’ll help you find the right provider for where you are in your journey.

Q: Do you have therapists who understand my background or identity?
A: Yes. We prioritize diversity in our therapist network. We have providers who specialize in working with BIPOC clients, LGBTQ+ individuals, first-gen professionals, and more.

Q: Can I request a therapist who shares my cultural or language background?
A: Absolutely. Let us know your preferences during the matching quiz or reach out directly — we’ll do our best to meet your needs.

Q: What platform do you use for virtual sessions?
A: We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform accessible via your phone, tablet, or computer. No downloads required — just click and connect.

Q: What if I miss or need to reschedule a session?
A: No problem. We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Contact your therapist or our support team to make changes.

Q: Who do I contact for support?
